This is done within the framework of the Sustainable and Resilient Ecosystems project: Community and Territorial Strategies for Prevention, Response and Recovery from Forest Fires in Protected Natural Areas, their Buffer Zones and Other Conservation Modalities in Peru (GEF-8 MIP-APC) which aims to strengthen the resilience of Protected Natural Areas (PNAs) in central Peru to forest fires, applying an Integrated Fire Management (IFM) approach that combines institutional capacities, community participation and territorial articulation.
The project operates in 13 Protected Natural Areas (PNAs) within the Central Region of SERNANP, specifically in the Nor Yauyos Cochas Landscape Reserve and the Inkatoshi Kametsa Conservation Concession. It is implemented by the Ministry of the Environment, the National Service of Natural Protected Areas (SERNANP), and Profonanpe, with WWF as the Implementing Agency.
