Did you know that an association in the district of Mala is transforming organic waste into sustainable products? The Mala Biofertilizer Producers Association (PROBIMA) has reached an important achievement by being a finalist in the Business Creativity 2024 Awards, which recognizes the innovation and social impact of business projects. Created within the Sustainable Mala project, an initiative of Compañía Minera Condestable and Profonanpe, PROBIMA has implemented a circular economy model that transforms organic waste into biofertilizers and ecological products.

PROBIMA is made up of 13 members of the Mala Peasant Community, 11 of them women, who produce liquid and pelletized biofertilizers under the Nutri Yawar brand and ecological cleaning products such as La Brillosita. Their work not only generates local employment, but also promotes better waste management in the region, contributing to the environmental sustainability of the Mala district.

This is a clear example of what private enterprise can contribute by working in alliance with an environmental fund, the local authority of the district of Mala and the rural communities.

This recognition highlights how PROBIMA is leading the shift towards a more sustainable economy, demonstrating that local solutions can make a difference in the fight against climate change and in the creation of inclusive work spaces. We congratulate PROBIMA for this important achievement!
