The National Service of Natural Areas Protected by the State - SERNANP is in charge of directing and establishing the technical and administrative criteria for the conservation of Natural Protected Areas - NPAs, and to ensure the maintenance of biological diversity.
The sustainable economic development of the populations and support for participatory surveillance actions in the NPAs is being promoted through the signing of 02 Conservation Agreements with the artisanal fishermen associations in Chincha and Huacho (RNSIIPG).
The strengthening of the control and surveillance system through the implementation of equipment and vehicles in the 3 NPAs within the scope of the project, for more than US$700,000.
The project has been contributing to provide better infrastructure conditions to Sernanp with the acquisition of administrative headquarters for the San Fernando NR and RNSIIPG.
The categorization of the Illescas RZ has also been supported.
The construction of infrastructure will continue, which is planned for 2021, once the PIP Technical File has been approved.
This event took place during the pandemic and through virtual meetings with Sernanp and NPA partners.
Coordinations are also maintained with actors in San Fernando NR and Illescas ZR.
