More achievements
important to date

Consolidation of the Volunteer Park Ranger Program (PGV) of the Paracas National Reserve. This program is made up of university students from various parts of the country and aims to protect and conserve the area through environmental education on beaches, and marine and land patrols.

The PGV is made up of artisanal fishermen, who support surveillance during their workdays, thus preventing illegal fishing and the unsustainable use of marine resources.

Maintenance of more than 15 km of road connecting the northern circuit improved the visitor experience and contributed to better surveillance of the area.

Implementation of a bike path along the northern circuit, making the reserve attractive to other types of tourists.

Acquisition of surveillance gear, as well as the purchase of trucks and motorcycles for the control and monitoring of illicit activities (fishing, mariculture, macroalgae, and tourism). In addition, studies have been conducted for the sustainable use of landscape resources and tourism management within the RNP.

The Paracas National Reserve received more than half a million tourists during 2022, that is, it exceeded pre-pandemic levels.

In 2022, the Paracas National Reserve entered the ranking of the Top 100 Sustainable Stories of the “Green Destinations Story Awards”, a global recognition that rewards the tourist places that are most respectful of the ecosystem, in addition to having minimal impact on the environment and local culture.

Implementation of a biological monitoring program for prioritized conservation targets.
