The National Service of Natural Areas Protected by the State - SERNANP is in charge of directing and establishing the technical and administrative criteria for the conservation of Natural Protected Areas - NPAs, and to ensure the maintenance of biological diversity.

The project’s intervention area expands along the Sistema de Islas, Islotes y Puntas Guaneras National Reserve, which comprises 22 islands, islets and island groups as well as 11 points along the Peruvian coast from Piura to Tacna.

Local coastal populations that live in the reserve's area of influence and use its natural resources.

More than 300 artisanal fishermen certified as fishing seafarers, a document required to obtain their fishermen's card.

Formalization and sensitization of the population on the use of resources, promoting sustainable and healthy artisanal fishing within the Reserve.

The Lobos Islands artisanal fishermen were given insulated boxes so that they can transport fish at a controlled temperature.

An agreement was signed with the fishermen so that they can contribute to marine and terrestrial surveillance.
