Support was provided to SERFOR in order to purchase basic equipment and for the generation of documents for oil spill management.

The "Plan for Evaluations and Monitoring of coastal marine wildlife populations and their habitats affected by the oil spill on the beaches of Lima" was prepared, a key tool for organizing and implementing the monitoring of birds and marine mammals and the affected ecosystems.

Maps of the location of affected wildlife were drawn up.

Basic equipment was purchased for photographic recording of the affected areas and counting of animals by sighting.

A proposal for a protocol for inter-institutional activation and action in the event of disasters caused by oil spills was developed.

Some of the actions contemplated in the plan for evaluating and monitoring affected wildlife populations were implemented, mainly the generation of a database of affected fauna and the evaluation of their habitats.
