The National Service of Natural Areas Protected by the State - SERNANP is in charge of directing and establishing the technical and administrative criteria for the conservation of Natural Protected Areas - NPAs, and to ensure the maintenance of biological diversity.

It also has influential actions at the level of the 38 Protected Natural Areas (ANP) of the Amazon biome, within the SINANPE.

The signing of the memorandum of understanding that launched the Peru Heritage Initiative (PdP Initiative), which implies the commitment of the Peruvian government and donors to the development of this initiative that seeks the financial sustainability of the PNAs.

Twenty-five economic mechanisms with potential development were identified and systematized by the PdP Initiative. Of these, there are now prioritized national mechanisms for achieving the goals of PdP.

Amazon, which are being evaluated for their viability, as well as the development of preconditions for their implementation.

Within the framework of social and environmental safeguards, the screening of the 4 PNAs benefiting from the project was prepared and approved, and they are being monitored in order to prevent and mitigate risks that may arise within the framework of the project's actions.
