NORAD (the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation) is the Norwegian government agency responsible for managing international cooperation and financing for sustainable development. Its mission is to support projects and partnerships that promote poverty reduction, gender equality, democratic governance, and the fight against climate change.
The Ministry of the Environment is the Peruvian government agency responsible for formulating, implementing, and overseeing public policies related to environmental management, the protection of natural resources, and climate change in the country. Its mission is to promote sustainable development, ensuring environmental conservation and the well-being of people.
The fact that the Ministry of the Environment is a beneficiary implies that it will receive technical, financial and methodological support to develop and update the regulatory framework, develop monitoring protocols and tools, and coordinate the participation of state and non-state actors, in order to ensure social and environmental integrity in the implementation of REDD+ in Peru.
Semester 1:
Completion of the technical assistance consultancy for addressing and respecting REDD+ safeguards and its participatory process within the framework of RENAMI
Semester 2:
REDD+ Safeguards Workshop with PPICC actors.
Hiring 10 specialists for the production of technical inputs to complete the nesting process and the registration document of the RENAMI TREES Standard within the framework of the DCI on REDD+
Development of key technical inputs for the first nesting cycle (2010-2019).
Preliminary exercises of the allocation tests to REDD+ initiatives.
Development of the Technical Protocol for Verra's VT0007 Assignment Tool.
Hiring of 2 consultants for capacity building and technical assistance on REDD+ issues to two indigenous organizations of the Platform of Indigenous Peoples to Confront Climate Change (PPICC)
