Profonanpe, Peru’s Environmental Fund, presented its new institutional headquarters in the district of Magdalena, with which it seeks to position itself as the new hub for nature; and which will serve as a meeting point for all those people and institutions that seek to connect humanity with the environment.
For 28 years, the commitment to the conservation of nature has driven each of the steps taken by the entity and has traced a path in the implementation of sustainable projects, which has been reflected in its role as a strategic ally for the implementation of environmental policy.
Thus, in its aim to meet current environmental demands and reach everyone who has the same purpose as us, last year Profonanpe renewed and offered a modern virtual house, which reflects its new visual identity and personality, built on the pillars of collaboration and innovation for nature. And as of today, it can be found physically at Av. Parque Gonzales Prada N°396 – Magdalena del Mar.
“The choice of a new natural home has not only involved a careful process on the part of the team, but has also been aligned with its values to remain the best and closest ally in caring for the environment,” said Anton Willems, Profonanpe’s CEO.
Now that there is a new home where everyone is welcome to design initiatives by nature, the organization is confident that the work being done together with the communities and actors involved and committed to climate change mitigation can be enhanced for the benefit of our country and all those who continue to believe in a more sustainable Peru.
Profonanpe is currently implementing 17 projects that seek to protect more than 17 million hectares of Amazonian forest, working in more than 40 protected natural areas in the 24 regions of the country and articulating multilevel and multi-stakeholder efforts in search of sustainable territorial development with a special focus on biodiversity conservation and sustainable environmental management. In addition, it is the only institution in Peru accredited with the Green Climate Fund and the Adaptation Fund, global organizations that focus on climate change.
