For more than 40 years, hydrocarbon activities have generated negative impacts on the Tigre, Pastaza, Corrientes and Marañón river basins, the most important oil extraction zone in the Loreto region.
Faced with this problem, the Peruvian State, together with the federations of the four basins involved and Profonanpe, Peru's environmental fund, are seeking to resolve this situation through the environmental remediation of the areas impacted by hydrocarbon activities.
Along those lines, and at the initiative of Profonanpe, the international event is being organized:“Remediation of Contaminated Sites by Hydrocarbons in Remote Areas”"(Remediation of hydrocarbon-contaminated sites in remote areas), with the support of RemTech Europe, a series of environmental conferences whose objective is the remediation of contaminated sites and protection of territories, establishing itself as the most specialized event within Europe, as well as AESAS (Brazil), the Ministry of the Environment (Minam) and the Ministry of Energy and Mines (Minem).
The event will be held virtually next Tuesday February 15, 2022, From 8:30 am to 1:00 pm, it seeks to be a space for the exchange of experiences related to the remediation of environmental liabilities in remote areas and is geared towards companies, remediation professionals, members of academia and others interested in learning about processes, technologies and experiences applied to the remediation of soils contaminated by hydrocarbons, which may be applicable to the reality of our country.
Thus, through the presentation of different case studies, international and national experts will share the challenges and innovative solutions they implemented during the environmental remediation process in remote areas.
