Peru’s Natural Heritage Project – Amazonia and Climate releases its social and environmental safeguard documents

In order to promote the participation of key stakeholders, inclusion, transparency, respect, and sustainability in the project’s actions, the socio-environmental safeguard documents are being made available to the public.

This is being done within the framework of the project “Peru’s Natural Heritage – Amazon and Climate: Effective Management of Protected Natural Areas in the Peruvian Amazon for Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation” and in compliance with the requirements of the Green Climate Fund. The socio-environmental safeguard documents developed for this project are being made available to the public. The aim is to receive input from citizens and key stakeholders that will contribute to strengthening its implementation, during a period of 30 calendar days.

 

The documents are:

 

The documents can be reviewed in digital format through this platform, and will also be available in physical format at the offices of the headquarters of the following protected natural areas as of February 13th of this year:  Güeppí-Sekime National Park, Sierra del Divisor National Park, Yaguas National Park, Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, Allpahuayo Mishana National Reserve, Matsés National Reserve, Pucacuro National Reserve, Altomayo Protected Forest, Río Abiseo National Park, Cordillera Azul National Park, Ichigkat Muja National Park -Cordillera del Cóndor, Tabaconas-Namballe National Sanctuary, Cordillera de Colán National Sanctuary, Pui Pui Protected Forest, San Matías-San Carlos Protected Forest, Tingo María National Park, Yanachaga-Chemillén National Park, Pampa Hermosa National Sanctuary, Manu National Park, Bahuaja Sonene National Park, Otishi National Park, and Alto Purús National Park.

 

The documents may also be consulted at the offices of the Indigenous Organizations participating in the project: AIDESEP, CONAP, FENAMAD, ORAU, ORDEPIAA, ORNAU, ORPIO, and ORNAL, starting on February 20th of this year.

 

Contributions, inquiries, complaints, or suggestions may be submitted through SERNANP’s Complaints, Inquiries, and Suggestions Mechanism (MAQS) via the following link: https://sis.sernanp.gob.pe/maqs/maqsOnline, as well as in the physical books at the administrative headquarters of the headquarters and surveillance posts of the protected natural areas in question.
