Environmental financing opportunities in October

If you are looking to contribute to sustainable development in the country, conservation, and promote climate change mitigation measures, find the financing program you need.

At Profonanpe, the Environmental Fund of Peru, we value your organization's work in nature conservation. Therefore, we are sharing some funding and training opportunities you can apply for in October that can enhance your project and contribute to climate change adaptation, sustainable development, and other areas.

 

  • Wildlife Acoustics: It offers a grant program to support the advancement of wildlife research, habitat monitoring, and environmental conservation. The quarterly grant program provides scientists with bioacoustic research tools to advance their studies of bats, birds, amphibians, and other vocal wildlife. Closing date: November 15.   • Halcyon Climate Fellowship Program: Available to founders across the United States and around the world who are developing a for-profit company addressing climate mitigation, adaptation, and resilience. This funding empowers entrepreneurs to tackle climate challenges through solutions in renewable energy, sustainable building, climate data, agriculture, WaterTech, and the blue economy.   • The Conservation, Food & Health Foundation: Most types of organizations that can provide evidence of their non-governmental status or charitable purpose are eligible to apply, including non-governmental organizations, non-profit organizations, civil society organizations, community organizations, colleges, universities, and other academic institutions.   • Rainforest Fund: They support community development, natural resource management, institutional strengthening, legal advocacy, public awareness, political activities, and climate change mitigation so that Indigenous and tribal peoples can maintain a healthy livelihood.   • Lush Charity Pot Grant: It prioritizes projects that aim to create long-term change regarding threats to conservation, such as deforestation. Funding is directed toward non-profit organizations and working groups. There is no closing date. Apply here.

 

  • Resilient, Inclusive and Sustainable Environments Grants Challenge: It seeks to fund projects that address gender-based violence associated with the environment and climate sectors. This year, the RISE grant challenge aims to fund applications that adapt evidence-based strategies to prevent, mitigate, and respond to the risk of climate-related gender-based violence in the conservation sectors, with a focus on climate change mitigation, nature-based solutions, and natural climate solutions.   • Funding from Mitsubishi Corporation Foundation for the Americas (MCFA): The mission of the Mitsubishi Corporation Foundation for the Americas (MCFA) is to promote environmental causes in the Americas in the broadest sense, encompassing both the physical and social environments in which we live. It supports a wide range of projects in the following four categories: Biodiversity Conservation, Sustainable Development, Environmental Justice, and Environmental Education. It has no closing date.   • Funding from Mitsubishi Corporation Foundation for the Americas (MCFA): MCFA's mission is to promote environmental causes in the Americas in the broadest sense, encompassing both the physical and social environments in which we live. It supports a wide range of projects in the following four categories: biodiversity conservation, sustainable development, environmental justice, and environmental education. It has no closing date.   • Rapid Ocean Conservation Grants Program: This is a Waitt Foundation project that provides small grants for solutions to emerging ocean conservation and protection challenges. The grants will fund projects related to the Waitt Foundation's mission to support sustainable fisheries and marine protected areas. This includes sub-themes such as scientific research, policy, management, and communications. There is no closing date. Apply here.

 

  • GEF Small Grants Program (SGP): The GEF Small Grants Programme (SGP) embodies the very essence of sustainable development by providing financial and technical support to projects that conserve and restore the environment while improving people's well-being and livelihoods.   • Grants from Rapid Response Facility (RRF): The Rapid Response Facility (RRF) provides emergency support to natural World Heritage sites in times of crisis. The RRF is a partnership between the UNESCO World Heritage Centre and Fauna & Flora International (FFI). RRF grants are available for natural UNESCO World Heritage sites. The RRF only funds actions at a site facing an 'emergency' threat to its biodiversity. They do not fund ongoing problems, even if they require urgent action. Apply here.

 

  • Community Development Grant: The Inter-American Foundation (IAF) funds grassroots support efforts in Latin America and the Caribbean to improve the living conditions of the disadvantaged and excluded, enhance their decision-making and self-governance capacity, and develop partnerships with the public sector, businesses, and civil society. The IAF seeks the following in the projects it funds: (1) innovative solutions to development problems; (2) diverse community voices in project development and implementation; (3) substantial beneficiary participation in: identifying the problem addressed, the chosen approach to solving it, project design, and the management and evaluation of activities; (4) partnerships with local government, the business community, and other civil society organizations; and (5) evidence of increased beneficiary self-governance capacity.   • The Christensen Fund: Financial and Logistical Support for Indigenousled and Community-based Organizations: The Christensen Fund provides financial and logistical support to Indigenous-led and community-based organizations. The fund focuses on biculturalism: the rich yet often overlooked adaptive web of people and places, culture and ecology. Its mission is to support the efforts of individuals and institutions who believe in a biodiverse world imbued with artistic expression and who work to ensure ways of life and landscapes that are beautiful, abundant, and resilient..   • Swift Foundation Grants to US & Global Organizations Working for Indigenous People Issues: The Swift Foundation is a private foundation that supports cultural and biological diversity through environmental protection and local governance in communities around the world.   • Swift Foundation Grants to US & Global Organizations Working for Indigenous People Issues: The Inter-American Foundation (IAF) is now accepting applications for its Community Development Grant Program. The IAF invests in community-led development projects in Latin America and the Caribbean.
