Open Call for Small-Scale Development Projects – Peru and Ecuador

The Young Inventors Prize is an award given by the European Patent Office (EPO) that celebrates young innovators under the age of 30 who, through their scientific and technological inventions, address critical global issues defined in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Elsevier Foundation Chemistry for Climate Action Challenge 2025
The Chemistry for Climate Action Challenge is an initiative of the Elsevier Foundation, in collaboration with Elsevier Chemistry journals. This challenge awards monetary prizes to projects that use green and sustainable chemistry solutions to address climate challenges in the Global South. Projects must contribute to both Climate Action (SDG 13) and Gender Equity (SDG 5). Closing date: September 15. Apply here.
Applications to the EPIC Air Quality Fund
The Energy Policy Institute at the University of Chicago (EPIC) is accepting applications for the Air Quality Fund. Financial support will be offered to 10-15 selected groups for 18 months. The Air Quality Fund is designed to support local organizations that install air quality monitors and share the data collected openly, with the goal of making a significant impact nationally. Insect Week Photography Competition
The Insect Week Photography Competition 2024 is an annual competition organized by the Royal Entomological Society, which invites non-professional photographers to submit their best insect photographs. The competition has several categories, such as “Insect Behavior”, “Insect Portraits”, and “Insects in their Environment”, with divisions for over 18s, under 18s, and a special category for photos taken with smartphones. Nominations open for WSA Global Award 2024
WSA selects and promotes local digital innovation that improves society. It is a non-monetary award system focused on sustainable knowledge transfer through a global network. Winners do not benefit from a one-time financial reward, but from a lifelong partnership and integration. WSA invites all UN member states to nominate their best local digital solutions for the global award. The categories are: Government & Citizen Engagement, Health & Wellness, Learning & Education, Environment & Green Energy, Culture & Heritage, Smart Settlements & Urbanization, Business & Commerce, and Inclusion & Empowerment. National Geographic Society Grants Program 2024
The National Geographic Society is seeking innovative proposals for photography, short films, writing, data visualization, and storytelling to help people consider some of the most important questions of the day. Projects should address the following questions in some way: What does it mean to be human? What are the limits of the Earth, or more precisely, what are the limits of what we can understand?
