With the support of the hemispheric initiative Conserva Aves, we seek to safeguard threatened or declining, endemic and migratory bird species and protect their important habitats in the Peruvian Tropical Andes region, through the creation of subnational protected areas (regional, municipal, communal, indigenous, public or private) in the country.

The Conserva Aves initiative, which protects territories of life, aims to effectively contribute to the conservation of birds and habitats throughout Latin America and the Caribbean by protecting at least two million hectares of key sites of immeasurable environmental, economic, and social value, which will also bring benefits to people and communities.

The resources to co-finance this first call for proposals come from the support and commitment of the Bezos Earth Fund, a philanthropic organization dedicated to combating climate change and protecting nature, and from Profonanpe. This initiative is the result of collaborative work between the National Audubon Society, BirdLife International, the American Bird Conservancy, and the Latin American and Caribbean Environmental Funds Network, all working to protect biodiversity, foster climate resilience, and promote sustainable development.
