To promote initiatives that contribute to the conservation of tropical forests and the sustainable development of Peru, through the provision of non-reimbursable funds to support local economic, social, and development, thereby mitigating the effects of climate change. This funding is provided through a debt-for-equity swap agreement between the Government of Peru and the Government of the United States.


The second call for proposals, 2025-II, continues to focus on the landscape of the Southern Amazon: Madre de Dios, Cusco, Apurímac, Atalaya and Purús (Ucayali), Carabaya and Sandia (Puno) and Satipo (Junín).

  • Local organizations directly linked to the exploitation of the territory's natural resources.
  • Holders of different conservation modalities.
  • Indigenous organizations, native communities, and local and regional organizations with a recognized track record of working with indigenous peoples and local populations.
  • Universities, research centers and public and private institutes with the participation of indigenous communities or other local actors from the productive or conservation sector.
    • Priority themes
    • Effective management of Protected Natural Areas, Regional Conservation Areas, Private Conservation Areas and other conservation modalities.
    • Strengthening territorial coordination spaces to promote the articulated management of the landscape.
    • Promotion of sustainable economic alternatives.
    • Contribution to the financial sustainability of protected areas.

    The proposals can address more than one of the priority themes in the competition, which will allow us to identify the needs and opportunities of the communities, support the revitalization of the local economy, contribute to the conservation of tropical forests, and promote the participation of women and youth.
