Tropical Forests Competitive Fund


Closing date: July 14

This competition seeks to finance projects that conserve tropical forests and promote sustainable development in Peru, granting non-reimbursable funds that boost the economic and social development of local communities and combat climate change.

The first call 2025-I is aimed at the Southern Amazon landscape in: Madre de Dios, Cusco, Apurímac, Puno (only Sandia and Carabaya provinces), Ucayali (only Atalaya and Purús provinces) and Junín (only Satipo province).

 

 
  • Local organizations directly linked to the exploitation of the territory's natural resources.
  • Holders of different conservation modalities.
  • Indigenous organizations, native communities, and local and regional organizations with a recognized track record of working with indigenous peoples and local populations.
  • Universities, research centers and institutes with the participation of indigenous communities or other local actors from the productive or conservation sector.
  • Effective management of protected natural areas, regional conservation areas, private conservation areas and other conservation modalities.
  • Strengthening territorial coordination spaces to promote the articulated management of the landscape.
  • Promotion of sustainable economic alternatives.
  • Contribution to the financial sustainability of protected areas.

    Proposals may incorporate more than one of the themes prioritized in the competition.
