Amazonian Forests – ASL2 contributes to integrating cross-cutting approaches for territorial development in Atalaya

By integrating gender, landscape, intercultural and intergenerational approaches, the Concerted Local Development Plan will be strengthened, a management tool that contributes to achieving objectives, goals and actions for the territorial development of the province.

In order to strengthen the territorial management instruments of the province of Atalaya, the Amazonian Forests – ASL2 project, led by the Ministry of Environment, convened representatives of civil society, academia, public and private entities, so that together they can identify trends, risks and opportunities associated with cross-cutting approaches in these instruments. This action took place in the cities of Atalaya and Sepahua, province of Atalaya, department of Ucayali.

It was a widely participatory space, which facilitated the intervention of representatives of various institutions, as well as leading actors of the province. The meeting made it possible to gather relevant information that will be used for the incorporation of cross-cutting approaches in the Concerted Local Development Plan (PDLC) of Atalaya.

The PDLC Atalaya is an instrument of territorial management of the province that will identify the objectives and goals of local development; with the actions developed in the workshop, it will be possible to incorporate cross-cutting approaches such as gender, landscape, intercultural and intergenerational approaches in the instrument, thus contributing to build a strategic development path for the province.

The “Amazonian Forests – ASL2” project is promoting this initiative within the framework of the Multilevel Governance component, which seeks to develop collaborative governance actions with various sectors and levels of government.
