Meet The NPAs

Why Are NPAs Important?

They represent our natural and cultural heritage
Over 15 thousand families carry out sustainable use activities in and around the NPAs
They conserve the living culture of 200 native communities
NPAs are the home of 1,857 species of birds, 559 species of mammals, and 7,590 species of endemic plants.

What are we looking for?

Financial sustainability to conserve the NPAs. Peru’s Natural Legacy Initiative was born with the purpose of contributing to the protection of the very best of Peruvian nature, through the articulation of donations from international cooperation, government financing, income from tourism and diverse economic mechanisms with private companies and the general public.
