It is closely linked to the sustainable use of natural resources in Huascarán National Park (HNP) and its purpose is agricultural production activities. These activities are regulated by the park's internal governing body, the board of directors. In addition, they develop tourism and have the “Provision of tourism services as a right to use the natural resource landscape No001-2021-Sernanp-PNH”.

Direct:

Since all profits obtained from visitor services (tourists) are destined to goods and improvements in the community (medical post, burial fund, school, etc.), the first group of direct beneficiaries are the members of the Comunidad Campesina Unidos Venceremos (United We Shall Overcome Peasant Community).
A second group of direct beneficiaries are the visitors who will receive better service, thus increasing the level of satisfaction of the overall experience, both on the María Josefa trail and in the other related services provided by the community.

Indirect:

Tour operators who will find a higher quality product with better marketing possibilities to the public.
Lodging and restaurants in the towns surrounding Huascarán National Park benefit from the increase in visitors and their stay.
Carriers and operators such as masons, carpenters, general laborers and suppliers of goods and services that participate in the improvement and implementation of the activities.

Partners:

The implementation of the project will be carried out by the Comunidad Campesina Unidos Venceremos in coordination with the leadership of Huascarán National Park, according to the current agreement and the necessary additions (the commitment is endorsed with the letter signed by the legal representative).

Will it succeed?

- Improve the food vending facilities in Llanganuco (Cebollapampa area) to serve visitors under a roof where they can sit. - Enable the María Josefa trail as an adequate space for hikers. - Develop skills, equipment and put 20 community members to work as local interpreters for the María Josefa trail. - Develop an informative and interactive web page to maintain updated information and promote the María Josefa trail and the different services provided by the United We Shall Overcome Peasant Community. - Strengthen the capacities of the services provided by the staff of the CCUV (120 community members) to improve the standards of quality and visitor satisfaction, taking as a reference the parameters established by the Rainforest Alliance.
