This is how the IUCN World Conservation Congress was inaugurated

Renowned figures were part of the opening ceremony of this event that promotes action on climate change

“The challenge of preserving our planet requires the convergence of our will and our actions.” This is what our CEO said. Anton Willems, who is currently in Marseille (France), as part of the World Conservation Congress IUCN, inaugurated yesterday, September 3rd.

For this reason, representatives of Governments, NGOs, indigenous peoples, businesses, experts and civil society from around the world have come together to share experiences and knowledge, establish networks and create global partnerships for nature conservation.

 

The high-level panel on the first day was made up of prominent figures, including the President of France. Emmanuel Macron, who pointed out that: "There is no vaccine for a sick planet. The battle for the climate and against climate deregulation is inextricably linked to the preservation and restoration of biodiversity.".

She was also part of the opening ceremony Christine Lagarde, president of the European Central Bank and former managing director of the International Monetary Fund, who emphasized the importance of our biodiversity: “Biodiversity and climate are two sides of the same coin.”.
