Environmental financing opportunities in September

At Profonanpe, the Environmental Fund of Peru, we value your organization's work in nature conservation. Therefore, we are sharing some funding and training opportunities you can apply for in October that can enhance your project and contribute to climate change adaptation, sustainable development, and other areas.

 

 

Open Call for Small-Scale Development Projects – Peru and Ecuador
The purpose is to provide funding for small-scale projects in Peru and Ecuador in 2025. These projects must generate long-term sustainable results, promote positive change, and improve opportunities for the most vulnerable people. Deadline: October 4. Apply here.

 

Call for Entries: Young Inventors Prize
The Young Inventors Prize is an award presented by the European Patent Office (EPO) that celebrates young innovators under the age of 30 who, through their scientific and technological inventions, address critical global issues defined in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Elsevier Foundation Chemistry for Climate Action Challenge 2025
The “Chemistry for Climate Action Challenge” is an initiative of the Elsevier Foundation, in collaboration with Elsevier’s chemistry journals. This challenge awards cash prizes to projects that use green and sustainable chemistry solutions to address climate challenges in the Global South. Projects must contribute to both Climate Action (SDG 13) and Gender Equality (SDG 5). Deadline: September 15. Apply here.

 

Applications to the EPIC Air Quality Fund
The Energy Policy Institute at the University of Chicago (EPIC) is accepting applications for the Air Quality Fund. Financial support will be provided to 10 to 15 selected groups over an 18-month period. The Air Quality Fund is designed to support local organizations that install air quality monitors and openly share the collected data, with the goal of generating significant national impact. Deadline: September 10. Apply here.

 

Insect Week Photography Competition
The 2024 Insect Week Photography Competition is an annual contest organized by the Royal Entomological Society, inviting amateur photographers to submit their best photographs of insects. The competition features several categories, such as “Insect Behavior,” “Insect Portraits,” and “Insects in Their Environment,” with divisions for those over 18, under 18, and a special category for photos taken with smartphones. Nominations open for WSA Global Award 2024
WSA selecciona y promueve la innovación digital local que mejora la sociedad. Se trata de un sistema de premios no monetarios centrado en la transferencia sostenible de conocimientos a través de una red mundial. National Geographic Society Grants Program 2024
The National Geographic Society is seeking innovative proposals in photography, short films, writing, data visualization, and storytelling to help people reflect on some of the most important questions of our time. Projects should address the following questions in some way: What does it mean to be human? What are the limits of the Earth—or, more precisely, what are the limits of what we can understand? IFF Global Green Finance Award 2024
The International Finance Forum Award aims to promote international cooperation and the exchange of best practices, as well as to support sustainable development and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. Call for Applications: NEC Innovation Challenge 2024
NEC Corporation is launching its third annual global acceleration program, the “NEC Innovation Challenge 2024,” which aims to co-create the next generation of innovations across various sectors. Call for Applications: Climate Parent Fellowship
The Climate Parent Fellowship, organized by the Our Kids’ Climate initiative, is a program designed for parents, grandparents, caregivers, and individuals working on climate activism projects focused on families and intergenerational action. This program aims to support leaders who promote family participation in the fight against climate change. Selected participants receive a partial stipend, as well as access to mentorship, training, and a collaborative learning network. Fecha de cierre: 06 de septiembre. Apply here.
