Through the support of the initiative, to safeguard endangered or declining endemic and migratory bird species and protect their important habitats in the Peruvian Tropical Andes region., through the creation of subnational protected areas (regional, municipal, communal, indigenous, public or private) in the country.

With the objective of strengthening the conservation of threatened, endemic and migratory bird species in decline in priority areas in Peru, the second Conserva Aves call for proposals was launched in our country. This initiative is led by American Bird Conservancy, (ABC), National Audubon Society, BirdLife International, Birds Canada and the Latin American and Caribbean Network of Environmental Funds (RedLAC), together with national partners Profonanpe and ECOAN, with the support of the Government of Canada.

This inclusive conservation and climate change strategy seeks to fund initiatives that promote the creation or expansion of local conservation areas in priority bird areas. It will also contribute to the design and implementation of management plans, capacity building and financial sustainability.

The best projects will be chosen, and each will receive up to S/350,000. The deadline for the submission of proposals is March 24, 2025, through the Profonanpe website.
