With the aim of strengthening resilience to climate change in the high Andean areas, Profonanpe, Peru's environmental fund, launched the second call for proposals for the Puna Resilient Puna Project Competitive Fund, which will finance up to 30 local initiatives in 58 districts of Apurímac, Arequipa, Cusco, Puno and the province of Yauyos (Lima) located above 3500 meters above sea level. More than S/. 16 million will be invested for this call.
Interested organizations will have until October 27, 2025 to submit their proposals. Each selected initiative will be eligible for non-refundable funding of up to S/. 480,000 in window 1.
The projects must integrate Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA) measures -such as the conservation of pastures, wetlands and forests- into camelid value chains (alpaca, llama and vicuña) and high Andean crops such as native potatoes and quinoa, ensuring that they remain competitive and sustainable in the face of phenomena such as drought, frost or heavy rains.
In addition to financing, the communities will receive training in business management, financial education and market access, as well as the opportunity to participate in exchanges of experiences and local fairs, expanding their opportunities for economic development.

In total, this first edition mobilized more than S/ 4 million in financing.
