Danitse, the lead singer of “Sponsor a taricaya turtle, conserve Pacaya”

With the song “Un hogar pa' nosotras' (A home for us), Peruvian singer-songwriter Danitse joins the campaign ”Apadrina una taricaya, conserva Pacaya“ (Adopt a taricaya turtle, conserve Pacaya), and becomes a guardian of nature.

After more than a month since the start of the campaign to conserve the taricaya turtles in the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, many people have joined as godparents for their release. The initiative, which began with the goal of releasing 43,000 taricaya turtles and covering the logistical expenses of the management groups and the Pacaya Families, It continues to grow in the number of donors while also increasing the scope of its objectives.

Currently, the "Adopt a taricaya, conserve Pacaya" program seeks to release 100,000 taricaya turtles into the Pacaya basin., and be a permanent alternative to mitigate during this year the impact that Covid-19 caused on the ecological balance and sustainability of the Pacaya Families. That's how Danitse decided to contribute her talent and composed the song "A Home" "for us," a song that has become the anthem for the conservation of the taricaya turtles.

For Danitse, Helping to protect a species is contributing to protecting the natural cycle of life: “I have come to understand that the balance of biodiversity is sustained by each of the species that inhabit the earth, an earth that is alive.”. Although she is concerned about the risk we have posed to that balance and to life on the planet, she also is optimistic about our ability to to become aware and begin to reverse these consequences, through actions that help at some level to take care of our life in harmony. That's why With her music, Danitse is committed to encouraging respect and love for animals and all of nature.

This song, which incorporates Amazonian sounds and Danitse's signature style, promises to become a musical reminder of the importance of conserving this species of aquatic turtle to continue promoting the sustainability of life.
