After more than a month since the start of the campaign to conserve the taricaya turtles in the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, many people have joined as godparents for their release. The initiative, which began with the goal of releasing 43,000 taricaya turtles and covering the logistical expenses of the management groups and the Pacaya Families, It continues to grow in the number of donors while also increasing the scope of its objectives.
Currently, the "Adopt a taricaya, conserve Pacaya" program seeks to release 100,000 taricaya turtles into the Pacaya basin., and be a permanent alternative to mitigate during this year the impact that Covid-19 caused on the ecological balance and sustainability of the Pacaya Families.
