RecuperoMiMar.com is launched to address the environmental emergency caused by REPSOL

Various civil organizations are joining forces to increase donation collection in a transparent and secure manner.

One week after the infamous spill of 6,000 barrels of oil in the sea off Ventanilla, various organizations have been working together to coordinate the donations needed to contain and remedy the damage, in conjunction with Sernanp and Serfor.

“All civil society organizations have joined together to present a single donation channel that offers security and transparency, enabling us to reach the urgent goal of multiplying donations,” commented Anton Willems, CEO of Profonanpe. “RecuperoMiMar.com is the result of the teamwork that all organizations and citizen movements must demonstrate today to overcome this environmental tragedy, which is undoubtedly one of the most horrific in Peru’s history.”.

Any citizen or organization that wants to contribute to cleaning our sea and/or rehabilitating affected wildlife should visit the website www.RecuperoMiMar.com and choose your preferred donation method: credit card, debit card, bank transfer, Yape, or PayPal. “Even a donation of one sol is welcome. We urge all our fellow citizens to visit the website and join forces to recover our sea as soon as possible,” Willems stated.

The first organizations that promote “IWillRecoverMySea” In addition to Profonanpe, these include: Oceana, SPDA, Conservamos por Naturaleza, SOA, ecOceánica, H2O Océanos, and Lucha Startup Studio. Profonanpe is a private environmental fund that has previously channeled funds to support rescue centers, leading the "They Need Us Too" campaign in conjunction with Serfor. It has also led the "Sponsor a Taricaya Turtle, Conserve Pacaya" campaign with Sernanp to help families in the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, ensuring that funds are transferred in a coordinated and collaborative manner with public institutions.

The 100% of donations to “IWillRecoverMySea” The funds will initially be used for beach cleanups and then for wildlife rehabilitation. "Through the fundraising platform, users will be able to see our progress toward our goal, ensuring everyone knows how much we're raising together," the group's spokespeople stated.

Companies are invited to join this initiative led by environmental organizations and thus contribute to the recovery of our sea.

“"It is important to emphasize that this initiative does not in any way exempt REPSOL or the responsible authorities, but rather seeks to complement, from a citizen's perspective, the restoration activities.".
