Loreto, Ucayali, Amazonas, San Martin, Huánuco and Madre de Dios

Loreto, Ucayali, Amazonas, San Martín, Huánuco, and Madre de Dios are key regions of the Peruvian Amazon, characterized by their rich biodiversity, tropical rainforests, and extensive rivers. These areas are home to numerous Indigenous communities and protected natural areas. Their economies are based on agriculture, fishing, forestry, and, in some cases, ecotourism. Beneficiary:

Inhabitants of the Peruvian Amazon

Recipients of a contribution, who sign financing agreements with Profonanpe, committing to implement actions within a specific timeframe for an agreed amount of non-refundable financing.

Main
achievements

The project maintained 1,028,937 hectares of forest under mitigation measures.

A total of 6,694 hectares were formalized under the assignment in use contract (CCUSAF) in Huánuco, San Martín, Loreto and Amazonas.

A total of 176,679 hectares were incorporated under community forest management (CFM) in collaboration with the GORE Loreto, Amazonas, San Martin and Ucayali in their territories.

We incorporated 2,783 hectares under sustainable management of permanent crops (coffee and cocoa), and 2,783 hectares under community forest management (CFM), all in favor of native communities and in collaboration with CONAP and ANECAP.

Effective management was strengthened in RCAs in Loreto, Ucayali, Huánuco and Amazonas, covering a total of 1,752,463 hectares.

The effective management of 2 NPAs (Sierra del Divisor and Yaguas NP) was strengthened, covering a total of 1,722,533 hectares.
