The Mala Biofertilizer Producers Association (PROBIMA) has achieved a significant milestone by becoming a finalist in the 2024 Business Creativity Awards, which recognizes innovation and the social impact of business projects. Created within the Mala Sustainable project, an initiative of the Condestable Mining Company and Profonanpe, PROBIMA has implemented a circular economy model that transforms organic waste into biofertilizers and eco-friendly products.

PROBIMA is made up of 13 members of the Mala Peasant Community, 11 of them women, who produce liquid and pelleted biofertilizers under the brand Nutri Yawar and eco-friendly cleaning products such as The Shiny One. Thanks to their work, not only is local employment generated, but better waste management is also promoted in the region, contributing to the environmental sustainability of the Mala district.

This is a clear example of what private enterprise can contribute by working in partnership with an environmental fund, the local authority of the Mala district, and the peasant communities.
