June 2021. – Profonanpe, the Environmental Fund of Peru, presented its new institutional headquarters in the Magdalena district, with which it seeks to position itself as the new hub for nature; and which will serve as a meeting point with all those people and institutions that seek to connect humanity with the environment.
For 28 years, the commitment to nature conservation has guided every step the entity has taken and has charted a course in the implementation of sustainable projects, which has been reflected in its role as a strategic ally for the implementation of environmental policy.
Thus, in its aim to meet current environmental demands and reach all those who share its purpose, last year Profonanpe revamped its website and launched a modern virtual headquarters, reflecting its new visual identity and personality, built on the pillars of collaboration and innovation for nature. And starting today, it can be found physically at Av. Parque Gonzales Prada N°396 – Magdalena del Mar.
«"The choice of a new natural home has not only involved a careful process on the part of the team, but has also been aligned with its values to continue being the best and closest ally in caring for the environment," said Anton Willems, CEO of Profonanpe.
Now that there is a new home where everyone is welcome to design nature-based initiatives, the organization is confident that the work done in conjunction with the communities and actors involved and committed to mitigating climate change can be enhanced for the benefit of our country and all those who continue to believe in a more sustainable Peru.
Currently, Profonanpe is implementing 17 projects aimed at protecting over 17 million hectares of Amazon rainforest, working in more than 40 protected natural areas across all 24 regions of the country. It coordinates multi-level and multi-stakeholder efforts to achieve sustainable territorial development, with a special focus on biodiversity conservation and sustainable environmental management. Furthermore, it is the only institution in Peru accredited by the Green Climate Fund and the Adaptation Fund, global organizations focused on addressing climate change.
