Main
achievements

Support was provided to SERFOR for the acquisition of basic equipment and for the generation of oil spill management documents.

The “Plan for Evaluations and Monitoring of coastal marine wildlife populations and their habitats affected by the oil spill on the beaches of Lima” was prepared, a key tool for organizing and implementing the monitoring of birds and marine mammals and the affected ecosystems.

Basic equipment was purchased to photograph the affected areas and count animals by sighting.

Maps of the location of affected wildlife were prepared.

Some actions contemplated in the plan for the evaluation and monitoring of affected wildlife populations were implemented, mainly the generation of a database of affected fauna and the evaluation of their habitats.
