Promoting sustainable economic alternatives to boost local development.

About the first call

The first call for proposals for the Tropical Forests grant program received 111 applications from six regions of the southern Amazon. This response reflects the strong commitment of local stakeholders to the conservation and sustainable development of their territories.

More than 15 proposals were led by indigenous or native peoples and 18 by women, which reaffirms that the conservation of the Amazon is also built from diversity, inclusion and the leadership of those who live in and protect the forest.

Currently, 46 initiatives are in the second stage of the competition, developing their proposals in their chosen thematic areas. These initiatives are progressing to the final evaluation phase, which will determine which entities will receive non-reimbursable funding to bring their projects to fruition.
