The National Service of Natural Areas Protected by the State - SERNANP is in charge of directing and establishing the technical and administrative criteria for the conservation of Natural Protected Areas - NPAs, and to ensure the maintenance of biological diversity.
The project’s intervention area expands along the Sistema de Islas, Islotes y Puntas Guaneras National Reserve, which comprises 22 islands, islets and island groups as well as 11 points along the Peruvian coast from Piura to Tacna.
Local coastal populations living in the area of influence of the Reserve and making use of its natural resources (Piura, Lambayeque, La Libertad, Ancash, Lima, Ica, Arequipa and Moquegua)
An agreement was signed with the fishermen so that they can contribute to marine and terrestrial surveillance.
Isothermal boxes were delivered to the artisanal fishermen of Islas Lobos, so that they can transport the fish at a controlled temperature.
Formalization and sensitization of the population on the use of resources, promoting sustainable and healthy artisanal fishing within the Reserve.
