In the first months of 2026, IMAR North Coast In the first months of 2026, IMAR North Coast signed 5 financing agreements with producer associations, peasant communities and a women's association that won the first contest of the Cuencas Vivas project in Cajamarca. These agreements are part of a total of 10 subgrants approved in 2025 and represent progress in the implementation process of the selected initiatives. All of this was the result of a process that combined the active participation of local organizations with the strengthening of technical capacities in the territory.
As part of this process, several organizations were accompanied and trained in the formulation of their projects with a focus on climate change adaptation by professionals previously trained by IMAR North Coast. This course was also attended by specialists from Agro Rural and the Santa Cruz Agrarian Agency, which helped improve the quality of the proposals submitted to the Cuencas Vivas project competition, which was held between September and November 2025.

The winning projects of the first contest, awarded in December 2025, receive funding to implement climate change adaptation measures linked to their local livelihoods. These initiatives include reforestation with native species through silvicultural systems, as well as sustainable pasture management to ensure livestock feeding in the face of climate change.
Living Basins, is implemented by Profonanpe with funding from the Adaptation Fund and led by Imar North Coast in the Chancay-Lambayeque watershed. Its mission is to strengthen the resilience of communities and ecosystems in northern Peru in the face of climate change, contributing to national adaptation goals.
