Throughout this long period, his tireless activity has been as appreciated and admired as his interest in sharing knowledge with children and rural communities.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A teacher by vocation and profession, V\u00edctor always harbored a great love for nature and the environment that nurtured his experience and sensitivity. It is for Mother Nature that he has worked, and he is now a role model for younger park rangers. With evident skill, <strong>He combined his rigorous training as an educator and his vision of environmental conservation to develop environmental education workshops in rural communities and educational institutions.<\/strong>. Thus, great was the pleasure when <strong>He received an &quot;Honorable Mention for his outstanding work as a park ranger&quot; at the 2013 Carlos Ponce del Prado Award<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">V\u00edctor Rojas&#039;s work hasn&#039;t been limited to a specific sector, as his hobbies and curiosity have broadened his horizons far beyond what he himself could have imagined. As a park ranger, he worked monitoring high Andean flora and fauna, becoming one of the leading representatives and liaisons between SERNANP (National Service of Natural Protected Areas) and the local population. In his role as a teacher, V\u00edctor focuses on a strong foundation of environmental education for everyone. He strives daily to ensure his message of environmental conservation reaches people and overcomes adversity, such as poaching, a problem he has significantly reduced in the Jun\u00edn National Reserve. Apa<\/span>A photography enthusiast, he has documented more than 600 species of flora and fauna in the Chacamarca Historical Sanctuary. He is currently working on the book &quot;Memoirs of a Park Ranger,&quot; which is expected to be published very soon. In it, he summarizes and narrates the highlights of his work and experience over the past 28 years, and includes exhaustive research on the wild flora and fauna of Jun\u00edn and Pasco. V\u00edctor Rojas has been recognized in the Distinguished Park Ranger category of the 2020 Carlos Ponce del Prado Conservation Award.
