The day, led by <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/imarcostanorte.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">IMAR North Coast<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, The meeting was held in Chiclayo with the participation of the mayors of the districts of Huambos, Miracosta and San Juan de Licupis, as well as officials from the Provincial Municipality of Santa Cruz and the districts of La Esperanza, Huambos and Yauyuc\u00e1n, marking a first step towards climate risk management.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During the workshop, the Directorate of Climate Change Adaptation and Desertification of the Ministry of Environment presented the guidelines and methodology for the preparation of these plans, highlighting the role of local governments in this process. In turn, the Regional Management of Natural Resources and Environmental Management of the Regional Government of Cajamarca presented the process of updating the Regional Climate Change Strategy and the importance of articulating these plans with this regional instrument. Finally, <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/imarcostanorte.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Imar North Coast<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, strengthened the practical approach of the workshop by facilitating a participatory work oriented to the initial diagnosis, a key stage for the preparation of the plans.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As a result of the workshop, initial commitments were made by some local authorities to evaluate, within their municipalities, the prioritization of the formulation of their CCLCPs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The PLCCs are instruments for the comprehensive management of climate change, which guide and facilitate local climate action. Their implementation will make it possible to plan adaptation and mitigation actions, promote resilience and improve local quality of life, in accordance with current national regulations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/profonanpe.org.pe\/en\/living-watersheds\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Living Basins<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, is implemented by <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/profonanpe.org.pe\/en\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Profonanpe<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with funding from the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.adaptation-fund.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/AFOverview-SPANISH-11.6.2014.pdf\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Adaptation Fund <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and led by the Instituto de Apoyo al Manejo del Agua de Riego - <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/imarcostanorte.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Imar North Coast<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the Chancay-Lambayeque watershed.
