This year, the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/share\/p\/18Cvcka6Vz\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">activities<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will take place from May 18 to 24 in various districts of Oxapampa.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Oxapampa bets on a more nature-friendly production process<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The ordinance approved by the Provincial Municipality of Oxapampa seeks to promote a more sustainable development model that is compatible with biodiversity conservation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To this end, it promotes, among other actions, the promotion of pollinator-friendly practices such as encouraging the responsible management and breeding of native bees; promoting the responsible use of agrochemicals and good agricultural practices; encouraging the establishment and maintenance of agroforestry crops; promoting the planting and reforestation with polliniferous and honey plants in urban and rural areas; and promoting community and formal environmental education, as well as citizen science as a strategy to promote the monitoring and protection of native stingless bees and pollinating insects.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-53791 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/profonanpe.org.pe\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/RAW5430-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"446\" height=\"297\" srcset=\"https:\/\/profonanpe.org.pe\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/RAW5430-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/profonanpe.org.pe\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/RAW5430-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/profonanpe.org.pe\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/RAW5430-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/profonanpe.org.pe\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/RAW5430-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/profonanpe.org.pe\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/RAW5430-2048x1365.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/profonanpe.org.pe\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/RAW5430-18x12.jpg 18w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 446px) 100vw, 446px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cInsect Hotel\u201d, a nesting place for pollinators, located in the Plaza de Armas of Oxapampa.<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The ordinance also prohibits the planting of the African Tulip, an invasive species whose nectar is lethal to native bees.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>A model that integrates science and ancestral knowledge<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The ordinance also promotes the recognition of the traditional knowledge of the Ash\u00e1ninka, Y\u00e1nesha, Andean and Austro-German peoples, integrating their ancestral knowledge into scientific and academic research. In this way, a participatory process is guaranteed and the results of the research are returned to the communities in accessible and culturally relevant formats.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The standard also encourages scientific research on biodiversity and pollination, promoting partnerships with universities, environmental organizations, public institutions and local stakeholders.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With this initiative, Oxapampa strengthens its commitment to biocultural conservation and positions itself as a national reference in the protection of pollinators and the promotion of sustainable development models.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>About Poli-LAC<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In Peru, the regional project \u201cProtection of pollinating insects in Latin America and the Caribbean (Poli-LAC)\u201d is led by the Ministry of the Environment, in partnership with the Pollinator Technical Group, the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation and Profonanpe, with the support of German development cooperation, implemented by GIZ, on behalf of the International Climate Initiative (IKI) of the Federal Government of Germany.<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; La provincia de Oxapampa acaba de marcar un importante precedente ambiental en el pa\u00eds.
