Faced with this scenario, in the framework of the implementation of the<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/profonanpe.org.pe\/en\/living-watersheds\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Cuencas Vivas project,<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> powered by <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/profonanpe.org.pe\/en\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Profonanpe<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, The lead partner CODEPISAM (Coordinadora de Desarrollo y Defensa de los Pueblos Ind\u00edgenas de la regi\u00f3n San Mart\u00edn) held community assemblies in four native Kichwa communities: Anak Juanjuysillu, La Esperanza, Shapahilla and Ankash Urku-San Hilari\u00f3n, where the project's activities and approach were validated in a participatory manner.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As part of this work, model statutes were prepared for modifications to the internal regulations of the 12 communities of the Kichwa people, with the active participation of their four representative federations: <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Federation of Indigenous Peoples Kechwa Chazuta Amazon (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">FEPIKECHA ), <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Federation of Kichwa Indigenous Peoples of Bajo Huallaga San Mart\u00edn <\/span><b>(<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">FEPIKBHSAM), <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ethnic Council of the Kichwa Peoples of Amazonia<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (CEPKA) and <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Federation of Kechwa Indigenous Peoples of the San Mart\u00edn Region<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(FEPIKRESAM). These models strengthen the management of the communal territory, promoting the protection of water sources, forest conservation, territorial surveillance and response to extreme events.
