{"id":36984,"date":"2024-09-04T00:17:51","date_gmt":"2024-09-04T05:17:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/profonanpe.org.pe\/?p=36984"},"modified":"2024-12-23T17:08:41","modified_gmt":"2024-12-23T22:08:41","slug":"profonanpe-y-el-protected-areas-trust-de-guyana-fortalecen-capacidades-comunicacionales-para-atraer-inversion-de-impacto","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/profonanpe.org.pe\/en\/profonanpe-y-el-protected-areas-trust-de-guyana-fortalecen-capacidades-comunicacionales-para-atraer-inversion-de-impacto\/","title":{"rendered":"Profonanpe and the Protected Areas Trust of Guyana implement a mentoring program in communications for environmental finance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In a joint effort to improve strategic communication management in the region, <\/span><b>Profonanpe, the Peruvian environmental fund with more than 30 years of experience, and the Protected Areas Trust (PAT) of Guyana are implementing an innovative mentoring program. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This collaboration seeks to transfer knowledge and strengthen the PAT's capabilities in the creation of effective communication campaigns, in order to better position its brand and attract private sector investment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The program, which strengthens partnerships within the Network of Environmental Funds of Latin America and the Caribbean (RedLAC), is designed to be a model of how strategic communications management can play a crucial role in the sustainability of environmental funds. \u201cCommunications for non-communicators\u201d is the name of this mentorship, which aims to. <\/span><b>to turn PAT members into effective storytellers who demonstrate the impact of their conservation projects.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-36988\" src=\"https:\/\/profonanpe.org.pe\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/IMG_9503-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"959\" height=\"639\" srcset=\"https:\/\/profonanpe.org.pe\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/IMG_9503-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/profonanpe.org.pe\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/IMG_9503-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/profonanpe.org.pe\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/IMG_9503-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/profonanpe.org.pe\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/IMG_9503-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/profonanpe.org.pe\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/IMG_9503-2048x1365.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/profonanpe.org.pe\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/IMG_9503-scaled.jpg 1600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 959px) 100vw, 959px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Profonananpe's experience in the organization of the XXV RedLAC 2023 Congress, which brought together more than 450 people and was sponsored by 13 companies and organizations, as well as its experience in the development of campaigns such as <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/profonanpe.org.pe\/en\/resilient-fishing\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cResilient Fishing\u201d.\u201d<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/profonanpe.org.pe\/en\/hands-that-cultivate\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cHands that Cultivate\u201d.\u201d<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> y <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/profonanpe.org.pe\/en\/wetlands-for-life\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWetlands for life\u201d.\u201d<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, will help guide the TAP in creating a solid storytelling strategy and identifying opportunities for collaboration with the private sector. This approach<\/span><b><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The TAP not only seeks to improve the recognition of the TAP in the region, but also to <\/span><b>increase its capacity to raise new resources for the implementation of environmental projects in Guyana.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Commitment to biodiversity conservation in the region<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The mentoring program follows a hybrid format and has combined face-to-face and virtual workshops in which the TAP team and the Protected Areas Commission (PAC) have participated. This program not only seeks to transfer knowledge, but also to empower PATs to tell their impact stories and attract new investments that will ensure the conservation of their protected areas.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Oleta Williams, Executive Director of the Protected Areas Trust, noted that the mentoring program was an investment in building a stronger, better equipped and unified national conservation trust fund for Guyana.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cIt was important for PAT to acquire the necessary skills to better share our story with our partners, donors and other stakeholders.
