To achieve this, two components that substantially impact the acreage targets are being prioritized: the effective management of protected natural areas (PNAs) and the effective management of regional conservation areas (RCAs).<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n In the case of protected natural areas, the work will focus on two areas: the effective management of Sierra del Divisor National Park and Yaguas National Park, both located in Ucayali and Loreto, respectively. <\/strong>Regarding the ACRs, priority has been given to work in those located in Amazonas, Loreto, Hu\u00e1nuco and Ucayali, which contribute 4,985,037 hectares under mitigation measures within the framework of the DCI.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Cecilia Flores, Project Manager Phase II of the DCI at Profonanpe, outlining the multi-actor and multi-level work that accounts for the actions prioritized in the POG and POA<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n For its part, the 2024 Annual Operating Plan (POA) establishes the goals and indicators for the coming year. One of the most relevant points is the allocation of almost 1 million dollars for agroforestry systems in the departments of Amazonas, Loreto, Hu\u00e1nuco and San Mart\u00edn.<\/strong> These funds will be used to formalize 680 contracts for the transfer of use of areas or lands that have been agroforestry, and to the sustainable management of permanent crops.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Profonanpe's role within this project is to have been appointed as the entity that will administer and manage the funds of this initiative, with the objective of ensuring that they are used efficiently and effectively to achieve the objectives of reducing deforestation in the Peruvian Amazon.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Anton Willems, CEO of Profonanpe, is in charge of the Technical Secretariat.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Milagros Sandoval, Director of the General Directorate of Climate Change and Desertification of the Ministry of the Environment, highlighted the joint effort of the board of directors for the approval of the documents: <\/strong>\u00ab"It is important to highlight that this stems from a collaborative effort in prioritization and also from criteria that were important to agree upon within the framework of this process.
