Furthermore, it aims to continue strengthening Peru&#039;s international profile as a key ally in implementing the regional environmental agenda and as an attractive tourist destination that promotes nature conservation and the sustainability of life.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Given that Cusco is home to several globally significant protected natural areas, including the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu, this city has been chosen as the main venue to address key aspects of the sustainable management of these areas in Latin America and the Caribbean. Profonanpe&#039;s experience in channeling and managing financial resources, in close collaboration with the National Service of Natural Protected Areas (SERNANP), will serve as a starting point for knowledge sharing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This agreement will enable the development of joint initiatives that promote sustainability throughout the tourism sector&#039;s value chain. This includes organizing conferences, forums, and awareness programs, as well as designing technical assistance and training programs to boost human capital development in the areas involved. During the four days of discussions, participants will delve into the progress and challenges related to new financing mechanisms, biodiversity conservation, impact monitoring and evaluation, knowledge management, engagement with Indigenous communities, and communications.
