From September 13th to 15th, the 5th International Circular Economy Forum took place, bringing together more than 70 national and international experts to exchange experiences, lessons learned, and commitments, thus promoting the circular economy in Peru. Profonanpe, Peru's private environmental fund, presented its work in environmental sustainability related to the circular economy.<\/span><\/p>\n

Juana Kuramoto, Head of the Research and Development Office at Profonanpe, participated in the dialogue panel \u201cHow to Facilitate Obtaining Resources to Promote the Circular Transition?\u201d, where she emphasized the fundamental role of the State and the need for a multi-sectoral vision to initiate the transition to a circular economy at the national level. She also stressed that this process must consider native and indigenous communities: \u201cIf we talk about the circular economy, biodiversity, and the sustainable use of resources, we must also talk about local populations, native and rural communities that need to be included.\u00bb.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

On the same day, Profonanpe, together with the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), organized the segment "Financial Instruments for Circular Businesses: Progress and Success Stories." In this session, Anton Willems, CEO of Profonanpe, shared the institution's experience as a partner in the implementation of sustainable and circular environmental projects. This segment also featured the participation of Jose Luis Vilela, Head of Strategic Sustainability Planning at BBVA; and Ferruccio Santetti, Deputy Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean at GGGI.<\/span><\/p>\n

Profonanpe's participation in the 5th Circular Economy Forum facilitated the exchange of experiences with the public and private sectors, academia, and civil society to promote and implement a just and territorially focused transition to a circular economy in the country and the region. Furthermore, Profonanpe is involved in the process of developing the<\/span> Peruvian Platform for a Circular Economy<\/span><\/a>, promoted by the Ministry of the Environment, together with 23 organizations from the public, private, academic and international cooperation sectors.<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
