The wait is over! Five Peruvian influencers have been selected to be part of the new season of RAP: Environmental Reporters of Peru, an initiative driven by Profonanpe, Peru's private environmental fund. These young people, from the regions of Apur\u00edmac, San Mart\u00edn, and Lima, will share their experiences with initiatives that promote environmental sustainability and nature conservation.<\/span><\/p>\n

Natalia Barrera<\/span><\/a>, Natalia, a publicist, model, presenter of the series \u201cDescoloniza\u201d on AJ+, and creator of the anti-racist audiovisual project \u201cUna Chica Afroperuana\u201d (An Afro-Peruvian Girl), lives in Lima. She began as an influencer with the aim of showcasing the lives of the Afro-Peruvian community from a new perspective and is currently one of the participants in the RAP project. Natalia is eager to meet and learn from the people leading various projects in Peru. We'll soon hear their stories on RAP! <\/span>Follow her on Instagram<\/a> y TikTok<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The team of the <\/span>Traveleras<\/span><\/a> It's made up of Sheyla and Nelyda, communications professionals and content creators through their brand "Traveleras." Their story begins while they were studying communications, a time when they produced travel reports to explore more of Peru. This experience showed them it was a career opportunity. Their project was born with the purpose of showcasing remote places in Peru and the Quechua language; in fact, they are the first Peruvian YouTubers to promote this language during their travels. Juan Victor Sicha<\/span><\/a>, Juanpi, as his friends call him, is currently studying Tourism and Hospitality Management. He blogs about rural life, nature, and the revitalization of Andean traditions. He grew up with his grandparents and mother in the district of Ancco Huallo-Uripa, in the province of Chincheros, Apur\u00edmac. From a very young age, Juan was surrounded by nature, and thanks to his grandfather's teachings, he learned to value and appreciate the ancestral knowledge the land offered. He now shares this knowledge through videos he uploads to his social media, where he shows how he obtains and prepares food from the land. Juan enjoys telling stories, especially those related to rural life. He tells us that with RAP, he will have the opportunity to be an agent of change: "From the reality I live in, I will show the problem and the solution because change starts with each of us, and it's time to raise awareness." John Glenn<\/span><\/a>, Jhon, an entrepreneur, podcaster, and speaker from the Moyobamba district of San Mart\u00edn, worked from a young age to support his family. Thanks to his dedication and hard work, he achieved success with his shoe business, Shoes All Day, founded a digital agency, and currently documents his work through blogs, podcasts, and social media. Jhon is a creative individual with extensive communication skills. He will soon share more about initiatives that conserve biodiversity near his region. Priscilla<\/span><\/a> Priscila Peralta, a veterinarian, has been working in the Peruvian Amazon for 10 years. She studies the impact of human activities on the health of wildlife and promotes strategies for preventing the transmission of zoonotic diseases to wildlife, domestic animals, and people. Her love for nature began when she volunteered as a park ranger in Protected Natural Areas, specifically in Manu National Park. She continues to be involved in various wildlife research and conservation projects. Through her social media, Priscila shares her work experiences in an educational way. We will soon learn more about Priscila as a Community Action Planner (RAP). She is ready for this new experience and says she hopes to "develop environmental awareness in our society and encourage people to participate indirectly from their homes in biodiversity conservation through citizen science." The first RAP 2021:<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The first season of RAP was launched at the end of 2021, featuring the participation of <\/span>Waldir Maqque<\/span><\/a>, from Pisac, Cusco and <\/span>Gianmarco Moreno<\/span><\/a>, who resides in Ucayali, Loreto. <\/span>Waldir<\/b>, Waldir, a culinary student and farmer, took us to visit communities in the Lares district of Cusco, where we learned about seed banks, the lives of farmers, and the top five varieties of corn found in Lares. Today, Waldir has already participated in the launch of other campaigns promoting agrobiodiversity conservation, serving as the face of the Kusikuy app launch.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In the case of <\/span>Gianmarco<\/b>, Gianmarco, a student of tropical forest ecology engineering and content creator about Amazonian culture, told us more about Tingo Mar\u00eda National Park. He toured the park with park ranger Don Wilson, showcasing incredible tourist sites within this protected natural area.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The new season of Environmental Reporters of Peru begins in the coming months. They will share their experiences visiting various initiatives that promote environmental conservation. <\/span>The RAP chapters will be released through the account of <\/span>TikTok<\/span><\/a> e <\/span>Instagram<\/span><\/a> from Profonanpe.<\/span><\/p>\n
