This initiative was promoted by the Ministry of the Environment (MINAM), the Municipality of Lima, Profonanpe, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the Peruvian Association of Consumers and Users (ASPEC), and the National Association of Organic Producers of Peru (ANPE).<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The event provided a platform for learning about and promoting the work of Peruvian farmers and producers. During the opening ceremony, Anton Willems, CEO of Profonanpe, emphasized the importance of active public participation in consuming products derived from Peru&#039;s biodiversity. Similarly, Modesto Montoya, Minister of the Environment, highlighted that &quot;it is important to continue fostering the participation of family farmers in local and national markets.&quot;\u201c<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Three initiatives promoted by Profonanpe participated in the festival. The SIPAM Project was present through the Kusikuy traveling fair, which featured agricultural producers from the Cusco, Puno, Huancavelica, and Apur\u00edmac regions, as well as the traveling museum. Through recreational activities, the museum offered visitors the opportunity to learn more about agrobiodiversity and the ancestral wisdom of farmers. Also highlighted was the announcement of the first app for selling ancestral products, which will connect farmers with consumers in Lima through digital transactions. The app will be available starting May 31.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-23595\" src=\"https:\/\/profonanpe.org.pe\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/DSC_0565-1-1-300x199.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"950\" height=\"630\" srcset=\"https:\/\/profonanpe.org.pe\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/DSC_0565-1-1-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/profonanpe.org.pe\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/DSC_0565-1-1-1536x1021.jpg 1536w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 950px) 100vw, 950px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Kusikuy fair is the first interactive museum of Peruvian agrobiodiversity<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/profonanpe.org.pe\/en\/proyectos\/implementacion-efectiva-del-regimen-de-acceso-y-distribucion-de-beneficios-y-conocimiento-tradicional-en-peru-de-conformidad-con-el-protocolo-de-nagoya-gef-abs-nagoya\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nagoya Project<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The interactive space \u201cBiodiversityWithScience\u201d was presented, which, through five stations, allowed visitors to learn about the importance and benefits of biodiversity. Representatives of the Nuqanchik Maronijei Noshaninka Network, who maintain their native languages of Quechua, Ash\u00e1ninka, and Matsigenka, shared the experiences of their communities with the attendees and delighted them with traditional songs in their languages.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-23600\" src=\"https:\/\/profonanpe.org.pe\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/DSC_0639-1-300x199.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"951\" height=\"631\" srcset=\"https:\/\/profonanpe.org.pe\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/DSC_0639-1-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/profonanpe.org.pe\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/DSC_0639-1-1024x681.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/profonanpe.org.pe\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/DSC_0639-1-768x511.jpg 768w, https:\/\/profonanpe.org.pe\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/DSC_0639-1-1536x1021.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/profonanpe.org.pe\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/DSC_0639-1-2048x1362.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 951px) 100vw, 951px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The \u201cBiodiversityWithScience\u201d route allowed participants to discover the benefits of Peruvian biodiversity products.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the entrepreneurs&#039; area, the Marine-Coastal Adaptation Project (AMC) presented 4 initiatives from women producers and artisans from Huaura and Talara, who are strengthening their technical-productive capacities in the face of the impacts of climate change on their economic activities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of them is Marleni Lapu, president of the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Asociaci%C3%B3n-de-productores-de-biofertilizantes-San-Pedro-Caleta-de-Carqu%C3%ADn-107357131775738\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Association of Biofertilizer Producers of Carqu\u00edn (APROBIOSPECC)<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> who commented that the work they do in their ventures aims to help the environment and the farmer.
