Impacted Site S0115 is located within the territory of the Nueva Jerusal\u00e9n Native Community \u2013 Corrientes River basin \u2013 in the district of Trompeteros, province and department of Loreto.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>With this approval, the engineering project will be prepared, which, once it has the approval of MINEM, will be able to begin the execution of the rehabilitation of this area impacted by hydrocarbon activities.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In 2015, the Peruvian government approved the creation of the Environmental Remediation Contingency Fund to allocate resources for studies and the rehabilitation of areas impacted by hydrocarbons in the Mara\u00f1\u00f3n, Corrientes, Tigre, and Pastaza river basins. Since then, the Fund has accumulated over 300 million soles and, through its Board of Directors, has submitted 30 Rehabilitation Plans to the Ministry of Energy and Mines (MINEM) for evaluation, of which S0115 is the first to be approved.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Regarding the Contingency Fund for Environmental Remediation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Law No. 30321 created the Environmental Remediation Contingency Fund, whose geographic scope encompasses the Pastaza, Tigre, Corrientes, and Mara\u00f1\u00f3n river basins in the Loreto Department. It also established the Board of Directors, the body responsible for monitoring, reporting, and periodically disseminating the results of the implemented environmental remediation measures. The Board of Directors is composed of representatives from the Corrientes, Tigre, Pastaza, and Mara\u00f1\u00f3n river basins\u2014the Quechua Indigenous Federation of the Pastaza (FEDIQUEP), the Federation of Native Communities of the Corrientes River (FECONACOR), the Federation of Native Communities of the Upper Tigre (FECONAT), and the Cocama Association for Development and Conservation of San Pablo de Tipishca (ACODECOSPAT)\u2014as well as representatives from the Ministry of Energy and Mines (MINEM); the Ministry of the Environment; the Ministry of Housing, Construction, and Sanitation; the Ministry of Health; and the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Profonanpe has held the role of Technical, Administrative and Financial Secretariat of the Contingency Fund since January 2020.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>El Ministerio de Energ\u00eda y Minas (MINEM) aprob\u00f3 este 10 de febrero mediante Resoluci\u00f3n Directoral N\u00b0 032-2021-MINEM\/DGAAH el \u201cPlan de Remediaci\u00f3n del Sitio Impactado S0115\u201d dado que cumple con los requisitos t\u00e9cnicos y legales exigidos por las normas ambientales.
