{"id":11559,"date":"2021-02-11T10:01:25","date_gmt":"2021-02-11T15:01:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/profonanpe.org.pe\/?p=11559"},"modified":"2022-03-10T16:53:08","modified_gmt":"2022-03-10T21:53:08","slug":"unidos-por-el-hotspot-andes-tropicales","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/profonanpe.org.pe\/en\/unidos-por-el-hotspot-andes-tropicales\/","title":{"rendered":"United by the Tropical Andes Hotspot: CEPF closes the second phase of work commemorating great achievements"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Representatives from the Regional Implementation Team (RIT) also participated, comprised of <a href=\"https:\/\/profonanpe.org.pe\/en\/\">Profonanpe<\/a> (Peru), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.patrimonionatural.org.co\/\">Natural Heritage<\/a> (Colombia) and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ffla.net\/\">Latin American Future Foundation<\/a> (Ecuador); the secretariat of<a href=\"http:\/\/cepf.net\"> Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund<\/a> (CEPF), and its cooperating entities, such as the European Union and the French Alliance for Development, organizations\/entities that during these last years have demonstrated their firm commitment to proposing initiatives for the conservation of nature.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since 2015, Profonanpe has been part of the Regional Implementation Team (RIT) of the Tropical Andes Hotspot Program, providing support in the promotion, management, and technical advice of projects implemented in Peru, the development of key capacity-building processes, and the maintenance and updating of information on conservation impacts. At the beginning of 2019, our institution was tasked with leading two components in the region: communication and monitoring. This entailed a coordinated effort to strengthen ties of cooperation and dialogue with our sister countries in pursuit of a common goal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-11561 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/profonanpe.org.pe\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Yunkawasi1-300x197.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"522\" height=\"343\" srcset=\"https:\/\/profonanpe.org.pe\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Yunkawasi1-300x197.jpg 300w, https:\/\/profonanpe.org.pe\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Yunkawasi1-1024x674.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/profonanpe.org.pe\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Yunkawasi1-768x505.jpg 768w, https:\/\/profonanpe.org.pe\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Yunkawasi1-600x395.jpg 600w, https:\/\/profonanpe.org.pe\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Yunkawasi1.jpg 1318w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 522px) 100vw, 522px\" \/><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A local guide being trained in the rural community of Corosha, Amazonas. These activities were carried out within the framework of a project implemented by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yunkawasiperu.org\/\">Yunkawasi<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In Peru, 27 projects have been funded by CEPF and, with the support of Profonanpe, have achieved significant results. For example, one project led by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.naturalezaycultura.org\/spanish\/htm\/peru\/peru.htm\">Nature and Culture International Peru<\/a> It laid the groundwork for the establishment of the Carpish Conservation Area in Hu\u00e1nuco in early 2020.
